Once again, Nation Radio will be holding a prestigious gala evening at the Vale Resort on Thursday 15th June 2017 to celebrate our unsung local heroes in the Nation Radio Pride of Wales Awards 2017 with Jehu Group.
We know that there are people all around Wales going the extra mile, the ordinary people that go out of their way to achieve extraordinary things! They usually do so without even realising it!

Young Fundraiser of the Year with Ty Hafan
This award pays tribute to somebody under the age of 18 in Wales who helps raise funds for one or more of the amazing charities we have in the country. The award does not necessarily go to the person who has raised the most money, but to someone who really gives their time, heart and soul to charitable endeavours.

This award pays tribute to somebody in Wales aged 18 or over who helps raise funds for one or more of the amazing charities we have in the country. The award does not necessarily go to the person who has raised the most money, but rather to someone who really gives their time, heart and soul to charitable endeavours.
Outstanding Bravery with Happy Home Furnishers Sloper Road Cardiff
The Outstanding Bravery Award looks to celebrate someone whose courage has been tested, but who has remained resolute, even in the face of the most frightening or desperate circumstances. This award is for a hero who has performed a daring rescue, possibly at personal risk to themselves, or an individual who has demonstrated phenomenal fortitude in a severely tough or daunting situation.
Child of Courage with Newport Caravan
Do you know a child who deserves this award? Maybe a youngster who has had to overcome illness, disability of personal circumstances that would be testing for an adult, let alone a child, or perhaps someone who has achieved something significant academically or through a talent? Maybe they have done something incredible in their community or by way of a brave or generous act?
Mum of the Year with Discount Pram Centre
This award is for a very special mum, grandmother or guardian. But don’t just leave it to the children to nominate in this category, they may need some adult help to make sure that their nomination reaches us. Perhaps your sister, auntie or friend really is mum or grandmum of the year? Perhaps your mum raised you under difficult circumstances but still provided you with love and security making her a wonderful role model?
Dad of the Year with The Sinclair Group
This award goes to a very special dad, granddad or guardian. But don’t just leave it to the children to nominate in this category, they may need some adult help to make sure that their nomination reaches us. Perhaps your brother, uncle or friend really is the dad of the year? Or perhaps your dad raised you under difficult circumstances, but still provided you with love and security making him a wonderful role model?
Carer of the Year with Care One 2 One
Recognising a very special care worker, we’re looking for someone who maybe works in the caring profession, or perhaps someone who looks after a loved one. Someone who is kind, gentle and compassionate and who invariably goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Contribution to the Community with Traveline Cymru
This award is bestowed upon someone who has done something to improve the local community. Maybe they’re a Neighbourhood Watch member who works tirelessly to make your community a safer place? Or perhaps someone who campaigned for something the community can benefit from? If you know someone who has made a difference in your community, we want to know about them!
Teacher of the Year with MPS Education
This is your chance to nominate the teacher, head teacher, teaching assistant or supply teacher, who you think deserves ‘gold star’ recognition. We’re looking for someone for whom teaching is their true vocation. We are especially looking forward to receiving nominations from children and young people, so if you know a ‘Miss’ or ‘Sir’ who you would like to see honored for their expertise and dedication, make sure you let us know.
Contribution to the Environment with GD Environmental
This award is designed to recognise an individual or business that has gone above and beyond in a bid to reduce their carbon footprint. Or, awarded to someone from Wales who is a great ambassador for green issues, not only in our county but perhaps nationally or even internationally.
