The Levellers celebrate 30 years with a special performance at Caerphilly Castle
The Levellers will bring live music back to Caerphilly Castle when they play the historic venue on Saturday the 16th of June 2018. Support comes from post-ravers Dreadzone.
Wales’ largest independent music promoter, Orchard Entertainment brings live music back to Wales’ largest Castle, with The Levellers celebrating three decades of folk-punk.
The Brighton band formed in 1988 through an unforeseen, but blossoming friendship between Mark Chadwick and Jeremy Cunningham at The Eagle Pub. Since their formation Mark, Jeremy, John, Simon and Charlie have crafted 7 Top 40 albums including platinum selling Levelling the Land, #1 album Zeitgeist and a number of Top 40 singles including This Garden, Hope St, Just the One, What a Beautiful Day and their signature song One Way. An undoubted career highlight for the band was headlining Glastonbury Festival, attracting the biggest crowd the festival had ever seen. 2018 will see the band release a new album We The Collective, which was recorded at Abbey Road studios with John Leckie (Radiohead/Muse/The Stone Roses) to coincide with their 30th anniversary.
Special guests Dreadzone are one of the most energetic, exciting and powerful live bands to emerge from the post-rave scene. The five piece have steadily been releasing albums and progressively bettering, refining and perfecting their own unique and inimitable take on dub since their inception in 1993. Still going strong after nearly 25 years in the game, they maintain their status as one of the best live bands around.
